Meditation requires the obliteration of ego - this is the terrifying gate that we will one day stand before if we sit in silence for long enough. Our ego contains all of what we know of ourselves – our memories, our attachments to people and things, our identity on Earth. But we cannot pass through the gate while still burdened with these things. At the decisive moment, the opening gate feels much like death, our own death and the death of those we love. And we feel guilt for choosing the death of these things in that moment. If we let go of everything we are...what is left of us? What do we become as we pass through? We must gain a level of comfort with the loss of these things that we hold so dear before the secrets will be revealed. But fear not – we will return.
lyrics
Lyrics
Just fractured light (spilling off our carousels)
Allows us to trust each others' spines (Animus Divine)
Still bundled up (cutting down through the coats of rust)
Yet lost in the limestone, I silhouetted out these notes.
Descending to these eyes I’ve known.
As I grow old, asking time, what will they show.
This saline has refused to meld with sound.
So when it’s safe and sound, I’ll see you both in the ground.
Be sure to stoke the flames
and scribble out their pathetic childish useless names.
Descending to these eyes I’ve known.
As I grow old, asking time, what will they show.
This saline has refused to meld with sound.
So when it’s safe and sound, I’ll see you both in the ground
